Has anyone had problems with their stock sub going in and out? When it goes out, I normally can pound on the cover and it will start working again. So, I thought it was a loose connection, but just took it apart. The connections seem to be ok, so wanted to see if anyone else experiences this problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Get the WickedCAS box from Nazar and call it a day. you will be much happier and it will take a LOT less work and effort on your part to try and seal the cubby properly. It will cost a bit more than you might want to spend, but it will be done right.

If you are good with fiberglassing then you could glass your own enclosure. It would probably only cost you about $80 in materials + cost of sub. You might be able to mimic the wicked cas design with the down firing sub (recommended), or you could make the sub front firing (but it prob won't sound as good).

Good luck finding a different answer here. I think it's funny that people don't slam roadster owners for putting subs in their Z.

are you one of those coupe owners whos jealous bc he couldnt afford the roadster and now ur just trying to pick an online fight?

anyway... i've never worked with fiberglass, so thats prolly not a good idea =p

if i just replace the bose sub with a kicker sub,and replace the amp, no crazy enclosures, just bolt it right in where the bose was.... u guys think it will really sound like ****? =/

A quick browse through the audio section will tell you the answer you will get here. The consensus here is that it sounds like hot poo. This of course is a personal opinion because everyone has their own standards of what sounds good. All I can tell you is to try it out. Buy a sub and amp and try it. If you like the sound it provides, then you are done. If you think it sounds like poo, then look for an alternative like fabricating your own box or buying the premade WickedCAS box.

Unfortunately not. It is quite a labor intensive process to make an exact fitting fiberglass box. That's why the high price on the WickedCAS box.
