Bazooka RS8A-HP
I was thinking about installing this in my car and was wondering how good the SQ is on these? I want good bass but doesnt have to be excellent. just want to looking for something that is acurate and cheap and doesnt take much room..
Thanks
Thanks
I had one of the early generation 10" powered Bazooka's in my Prelude. It was decent bass (I think they've improved since, plus they have more power now) but I opted for two JL 10's later on. One thing though.....I was running trunk bass whereas you'll be running hatch bass. I don't think you'd be disappointed with the powered 8" if you can get one for a good price.
I'm more than likely going with the Infinty Basslink this time.

I'm no stereo expert, but I had a 6.5" and a 8" Bazooka in my '86 MR2, and I have a few semi-educated opinions:
1. make sure you have a cross-over somewhere to filter the frequencies being passed to the sub to limit to low-ranges only (check the Bazooka manual or Web site for details);
2. Bazookas provide muddy bass (not very good quality, IMO) but would be decent low end "filler" for the stock Z system, provided you don't crank up the bass to high (I have a Track with the base stereo, and it's a but lacking in bass);
3. if you're going to go through all the trouble of installation, spend the extra cash and put in a real sub (check other threads for info) and trash/sell/eBay the Bazooka.
Hope that helps!
Keep in mind, I had my tube almost 7 years ago, so maybe they've got better over the years...?
Good luck!

No offence, but you drive a $30K+ car and don't have $110 to spend???
Dude! Who gave you the free Z?
Well i could spend more but prefer not to
... Spending most of my money on the car and of course other things.
anyways my installer took apart my bazooka tube and ran speaker wires so i can hook it up up to my amp (alpine MRV-F450) and bypassing the built in amp from the tube. Then i just strapped it down in the back. It sounds great now and it cost me $0...
Next ill be getting me some component speakers. Any recommendations on some speakers for $100? :P
