Default Can my JL 300/2 handle these CDT's?

Hey guys. I have a quick question. I lucked out on woofersetc..I got CDT Audio EF-61FG for $200 w/ free shipping. (Makes up for $$ I had to dish out for spacers). The deal is that I had purchased a lower model and they upped me to this one for free....I said ok, but now am wondering if my amp has the juice to run these. I have a JL 300/2, 150x2 rms I believe (but at what V?). . States 170 watts rms power handling for the comps...I'm guessing it's not such a great idea to run these off my jl amp? Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks!

you copy pasted the basic woofers etc web site not the particular cdt

if you set your hi pass @ 100 hertz they handle and do best with 200 rms per pair or 100 rms per side

if you running these cdt they are 4 ohm

so if 1 set comps your needing an amp that does 100 rms per cahnnel at 4 ohm x 2 channels

does your jl 300/2 do 100 rms x 2 @ 4 ohms

you can feed them 150 rms per side but set your high pass at 125 hertz

do not set your high pass at 80 hertz mids can't take it with full power at 80 hertz

I updated the link to speakers. I'm not sure if it does 100 rms@4 ohm....haven't received it yet. I'm not sure I understand how I would only need 100 rms / ch. if my speakers are rated at 170 rms? Thanks.

I have those same exact speakers. I run them with this:
http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/pro...products_id=46

set in bridged mode, it is rated for the same exact wattage as that JL and it runs them perfectly, the amp doesnt even get warm. Honestly i couldnt imagine shoving more wattage into them. Youll be fine I think, if the power ratings are anywhere close to what the two companies have on paper.

Great, thanks. You're right, the specs are fairly close on our amps. How do you like those CDT's? I have heard such good things about them, can't wait to have em in there! Do you have fillers for rear?

if you got a new JL 300-2 slash it does 4 ohm 150 watts x 2

if your speakers are 170 rms the JL will be fine if you maintain voltage

the cdt's can work with 100 rms fine
you'll have 150 rms
i feed mine 200 rms

they will sound great

Thanks for the help all! I found a shop here in Houston that works on alot of Z's...they will build me custom spacers to fit the large magnets. I had my momo 10" put into the stock sub location today...looks like Im gonna have to dynomat the hell out of that area....rattles excessively and is a bit boomy. I'll have to mess with the filters again once the comps and 2nd amp are put in. Anyone else have an aftermarket sub in stock location?

you can use factory spacers and save money on fabbed spacers

no I have my sub box where the spare tire used to be...but if you have some extra cash instead of mounting those in the factory location...pick up nazaars door speaker pods, the imaging is so much better.

youll love those CDT's by the way. I replaced my old alpine type R componets with them and the sound difference is unreal. They can handle so much power and sound amazing even at high levels. almost ear-splitting.

the rating of 150x2 on the amplifier is at 12 Volts.

Slash series amplifiers put out the same power at all impedances levels.

Also with JL there's none of that "RMS" b.s.
