Did you use the '04 cubby? It looks like the flip-up instead of the one that retracts in. If so, will you post up how you did it because I don't really want to swap out my cubby for an '03.
for the cubby part of it it really isnt that hard.
first off keep this in mind, behind that cubby there is no extra space.
so pretty much whatever thickness the monitor is, thats whats gotta be cut off the cubby. the nice thing is behind the cubby its plastic so ur traditional monitors that need a plastic cover or a bracket on it dont really need it cuz its not touching any metal. so beyond that its pretty simple and ill tell you how to do it step by step.
1. take the whole center dash out (consists of your gauges, radio, and cubby)
2. now for each monitor its gonna be a little different but mine were slim monitors that you can put into sunvisors so I didnt have to cut away too much. (about 3/4 inch from the back of the cubby) The way i cut it was since its a hard plastic (the kind that will just crack if you force it too hard) i got my soldering wand, changed the tip to a flat tip thats old, drew my cut, ran the soldering gun across it so it weakened the plastic. if u run the soldering gun across it enough it gets just weak enough that you can bend the plastic and it just snaps across the line you ran it across. this is probably the hardest and most time consuming part to it. and trust me take ur time.
(little hint: run the soldering gun across it lightly and often, not hard and once or twice. you'll get a better cut.
3. after that, for the felt inside, just run a box knife along the cut. (by now it should be bent inside and just pretty much hangin on by the felt.)
4. now when u want to put the monitor onto the cubby i used plastic strips and put holes in it where the door is bolted on to the cubby. and for extra safety used a hot glue gun and put a dab of glue every 2 inches across the edges where the monitor touches the cubby and thats it.
its really a custom job and it might sound a little "ghetto" the way i did it but keep in mind, with slim monitors, when shops put them into the headrests or sunvisors all that holds it up is hot glue. but just have fun doing it, and make sure you have a way to play the audio through the radio.
