Default Stock Navigation

I have an 04.5 ZR with the stock navigation. Have any of you been able to make all of the features work while driving? I have done multiple searches with no luck. Thanks!

I'd love to know the same thing, not so much so that I can get in an accident, but usually I'll have the passenger type in the destination and it's a pain in the *** having to pull over in order to type in where you want to go.

Your question shows why the Garmin GVN 53 is just a great car navigation device. The Garmin GVN 53 is not burdened by a silly parking brake wire or a speed sensor wire. The GVN 53 does not support touch screen function, but that’s a plus in my opinion. I never want a passenger operating the GPS by reaching across my line of vision to press on the screen. And, I hate fingerprints all over my LCD screen.

If you have the Garmin GVN 53 and a passenger on board operating the GPS, they do this using Garmin’s RF remote controller. The RF remote controller does not require “line of sight” access, so you can put the “brain” anywhere in your car. Your passenger/operator sits comfortably in their seat while running the GPS. There is no need to bypass a stupid and useless parking brake “safety” connection. Of course, the driver can do the same operation.

Once you use the Garmin GVN 53 and its ROM/RAM structure, you will never want a DVD-based or DVD/HDD-based GPS device. The Garmin GVN 53 is much faster (ROM/RAM is faster than DVD or HDD), more reliable (no moving parts), and offers a more flexible installation.

I have stock navagation in my Chrysler 300 as well as my 350Z. I was able to buy an reprogramed disk from someone on the 300 forum which now allows me to operate the navagation while moving. It works great. Wonder if they could do it for a Nissan?
