Default 350 sub problem??

hey guys, wondering if any of you have experience the same. i got 2003 Z and noticed at random times the sub will just die. seconds, minutes later it will kick back in. somtimes it's me playing music too loud and at times very softly and it still cuts out. everything is stock. could it just be a loose wire? it's too cold here in Canada now for me to take it apart and it's a pain to do too. any ideas?

thanks

mine did the same thing. Also a 2003 350z touring. From what i searched i beileve it was the bose stock amp. I ended up ripping out the bose sub and adding 2 JL 10" w3d4. Problem solved lol

i have a sub and amp in my other car (1996 honda accord) and it was doing the same thing. The connectors on the amp that hold the wire that goes from the amp to the sub, were shaking loose. check those connectors.

is it the stock sub? if so, idk how they work.
if aftermarket, check your grounding to the amp! mine did that and the amp wire was just not secured like I thought.

Yeah, probably down to the crappy bose system. I don't have the bose, but I realized my rear driver side speaker is starting to go. It intermittently clicks sort of in time with the music, and I think it's getting louder and louder as the speaker dies. It's incredibly annoying. Even my moms 10 year old subaru station wagon has better stock speakers than the Z.

Get red of the stock bose sub and get a new sub box and an amp. Possibly the Our New Glove Box enclosure that will sit in place ofwhere the stock sub was. MUCH MUCH BETTER BASS responce.

Mine just started doing this today as well. I am going to try and get to the amp. I'm experianced in car audio, my first guess is an amp connection or the amp is going out. Its acting like its going into safe mode...

I cant be of any help for a fix but I can tell you it started happening to me about 3 weeks ago. Luckily I ran into some cash and a couple kickers are taking its place.

In my opinion replace it. Since its Bose though if you replace the sub you going to want to replace the speakers, receiver, and amp( if they are bose stock as well). Bose doesnt like to blend with other brands...you'll lose sound quality big time, I know I did.

I listened to "Blasian" on this site and he told me to just replace the bose amp in my roadster. Sure enough, it solved the problem and everything is great now.

I was just about to post that

You can either shell the money out and replace most of the system or go the much cheaper route and get a Bose amp.
