Default First Audio Modifications?

I just bought a 03 touring edition 350Z and I was wondering what I should start with in my modifications to the audio system.

I have an 05 Kenwood deck and 2 10" JL Audio subs. Im not sure if I really want to install either of these in my Z.

My goal is not to vibrate my testiculars off, but to make a clearer and a little louder than stock system.
I have about $500 to spend, and I was thinking either a decent deck and maybe some new door speakers? Any suggestions to a beginner?
If Im not going for a rediculous system should I get rid off my 10" JL Audios and old deck to help offset the costs? Or find a way to use them?

i would just get an amp for your subs that you already have. The bass doesn't have to be loud or boomy. You can control that.

I believe the 2003 Touring model came with a Bose system. That requires replacing everything since the Bose is proprietary and it’s components won’t work properly with non-Bose devices.

If your budget is tight, you could use the Kenwood deck, add an amp, replace the front component speakers - and disconnect the rear speakers, the Bose sub and it’s little amp. From there you can add the SubWs you already have.

I’m suggesting the you keep the Kenwood and your SubWs since you already have these, and you can always swap them out at a later date if you want. They are much better than the Bose you have now in your car.

buy a set of front components for $150.. use the rest to buy a 4 channel amp... run the fronts of 2 channels... run the subs of the other 2..

hopefully you can install this stuff yourself.. if not then keep saying because install alone is going to cost you a pretty penny

I had no idea the bose system was an exclusive system. I guess I better save up and get a good amp, and door speakers. Does anyone know if my 10" subs can be fitted into the stock bose speaker holes directly behind the seat? Ive seen a couple boxes that pretty much took the entire cargo area. As this is my fiance's daily driver I don't want to sacrifice the limited supply of cargo area that the Z has.

the bose location is a sh!tty location.. you won't get the proper performance out of your subs in that location.. get an under the strut bar box

they make a box for that area do a search for it im too lazy at the moment if not ill get you a link in a bit. They are pretty expensive boxes though. The understrut 2 10 box doesnt really take any cargo area at all just like it says under the strut. You dont have to get the amp rack that comes with some of them. Get a understrut 10 box and hide the amps in the bose cubby jmo.
