Has anyone looked at the detailed dimensions of this unit and compared them to available space in the 350Z. I would believe it would fit like previous models, but would like to be positive before going through all the work. Thanks in advance.

Double-DIN. It's an industry standard.
Quoted from Crutchfield, "DIN is an acronym for the roughly translated "Deutsche Institut fur Normung," a German standards and measurements organization. For our purposes, DIN simply indicates that a device complies with a generally accepted standard of dimension or configuration."

There is a Recall on the 8120 and 812 and 7120 , they will be making a software change. We got a call this morning and we will be sending all the units shipped to us back to them to update the software. They will then be sending all the units back to us.

I feel releaved this was caught before all units went out to your hands. Should have them back shortly. Thank you for all your patience.

I was really excited about these units shipping, However it is better to be safe then sorry. If any questions please feel free to call.

Figured this would happen. There must be some bugs in there that still need to be ironed out. Better than us users having to beta test the units for KEnwood

Poopy. I went to sleep last night dreaming about putting this in. I'm not kidding.
Any of you ever have one of those little dogs that runs around in circles real fast, then pees a little? That's me right now!

I can't believe what I heard, A couple major online retailers are still shipping these units disgarding the recall. WOW...

We at Wicked CAS want to make sure all units we send out will be serviced with the Recall before they get to our customers hands.

If there is a recall on these units in the future (once we have them) how do we go about sending them in? Do we have to send them back to you first, or will they make the software updated available via a firmware upgrade, or how does it usually work?

If there is a recall after, you do not need to send it back to me. This is only because they don't want the first batch of these uniots arriving into customers hands without the repairs performed. I also don't want to ship any units knowing there is a problem with them.

Once you get it and let's say 6 months later anything goes wrong with it, it would ba a standard warranty issue. It can be repaired at any Kenwood Authorized Warranty Repair facility.

If there is a recall, Kenwood Tech Support in California and Canada knows nothing about it. Called them both an hour ago.

Unfortuneatly, I purchased a DNX7120 before I knew an 8120 was available.

My supplier, when I asked about an 8120, will not carry excelon products. Not sure why, only said too many returns.

You will need to send your 7120 back for the recall. When did you get it?

It sounds like your supplier was just not able to get the 8120. He need to be excelon dealer to be able to get the excelon product.

Cant imagine why there would be more returns on an excelon than on its cheaper sister model. The excelon models appear to be Kenwood's flagship models, having longer warrenty periods and more features than the regular models, so I dont really understand that "too many returns" problem.

He was just basically selling what he had in stock. Excelon is Kenwoods flagship product and does give better warranty. He most likely did not have the Excelon in stock or as Nazar mentioned is not an Excelon dealer.

Default Recall

How can we tell if we received a bad radio? Is there a certain software version that would tell us? I've also called Kenwood this morning and they knew nothing about the recall.
