Default Rattle Sounds Are Eating My Brain!!!! Help!!!

Nothing bothers me more than have interior rattle noises coming from all the plastic dash peices. Being that i have solid motor mounts it is almost a un-avoidable issue. When i picked up my car with the motor mounts it really wasn't that bad, but ever since i installed my pioneer AVIC D3 i get this buzzing sound everytime the engine hits a certain rpm range( ). This leads me to believe it is the trim that goes around the headunit. My question is what steps can i take to resolve this issue? Has anyone else experienced this after installing a aftermarket hu?

Please help save my sanity !!!!

My rearview mirror rattles like no other

But I'm also getting a rattle after installing my Eclipse HU. I need to take it apart again and see whats up.

first thing is.. if you feel its the trim around the head unit.. you should have someone try to hold the trim in place when you get to that RPM to see if that is really the problem.. or get a thin hose put it near the dash and have someone listen..

thanks for the reply w/ all the links doug (i say this in a non sarcastic manner ).

I installed the HU so it is a easy fix, its just figuring out what method to use in order to isolate the contacting pieces.

i found a way to actually stop my rear view mirror from rattling. The base piece where the mirror actually bolts on, that use to slap the glass or something hard everytime the base hits. Made my music sound like ****. I found a simple way to fix this even when my system is turned ALL the way up. Not sure about some of you who are running more extreme set ups. I have a homelink mirror btw. I'm going to try and take pictures if some of you are interested . Doesn't hurt and all you need is electrical tape.

My fix for the wire cover by the base that hits the glass was to put strips of felt on it.

My fix for the rear view mirror itself (the buttons on the homelink mirror rattle) was I cracked the mirror housing open, put some deadening in there and I found that the buttons rattle, so I put '*****' of sound deadening material (pulled off the foil backing) on each button. I put the housing back together, pushed each button a couple times to set the material and now no more rattles and all the buttons still work.
