Please help! (trouble w/ Avic D3)
I have done the bypass per the directions posted on here but i can't seem to get it to work. I can only play videos or mess w/ my nav when i am stopped, but i don't have to have my parking brake up. What could be the problem. I have a 06 if that makes a difference.
Also i cant play music videos from my ipod either. It will play the sound but not the video on the screen. Does anyone else have this problem?

i would assume if you can only hear the sound from the ipod that its the "tv out" setting on the ipod itself. Its in Video Settings. Turn it to on or ask if you like using it by itself sometimes.

Sorry i should have clarified, i used the "how to" directions that were posted in here. I know it is difficult to diagnose this stuff over the internet but i was wondering if maybe other people had issues and how they resolved their issues.

Well, my first WAG (wild *** guess) would be since you say the parking brake does NOT have to be set for it to work while the car is in park, you must have successfully grounded the parking brake wire. Soooo....
The second part of the bypass you have to complete is moving the yellow "mute" wire in the D3 harness. Did you do that? Have you checked it to make sure it's in the new spot in the harness good, i.e. the pin is making contact?

The ipod thing is most likely a different issue- the ipod touch and iphone can have video out issues based on the firmware they are running. Just make sure tv out is switched on.

thanks for all the help guys!
I think i may have figured it out. I think i have the mute wire grounded to a location that is not a good ground source. It is labeled ground #3 in the install how to thread. I didn't notice until just now that the op states specificaly that this is not a good grounding point. So maybe that is the issue.
