Default What will sound better? (pics)

Im fiberglassing a subwoofer box behind the driver seat where the stock bose sub used to be. My question is, which will sound better?

Facing out like this...

at an angel

or completely face down like Nazars boxes

For no substantiated reason, I'd say facing outward would be best.

Subs Are Non Directional....It will sound the same no matter wich way you place it... the difference is in the BOX, what it's made from, how much space is in it..If theres Poly-fill...etc

it most likely will sound like crap in that sport regardless, due to the bass wave must travel somewhat of distance to your ear, in order to sound good...

My suggestion is just stick to Zenclosure box, in the trunk....

having tried the first nad the third, i can tell you nazars box works best...the automotive enviroment, having a loading plane (solid surface) for hte sub to fire off of works wonders...and in a convertible...the difference is relaly noticable...

same amp, same sub, i first just stock it in a box fiing outward, then tried a downward firing, an honest, dramatic difference in response

good to know...was there a lot of rattling in the roadster?? (i have a roadster, this is why im doing this)

I want it to be semi show, did it sound horrible facing outwards like that? Or was it just not as crisp, loud, ect

not much rattles, but i also dampened it...

you loose quite a bit out of output and feel of hte bass when you face it outward

i really want it to be faced outwards...but if i dace it down i guess it can make it look good...didnt you do a car where a sub was faced down and there was Plexiglas looking into it?

do you have pics of of and how you did it?

thanks

edit: found it https://my350z.com/forum/audio-builds/270231-06-zr-install-done-ceo-style-quite-technical.html

how did you do it? fiberglass? was it one clean unit that slid into the compartment?

FWIW- I tried a 10" sub in the hatch area and got different sound by trying it in different orientations.
