Question Help Installing Head unit and speakers on a 07

I have an 07 and I don't want to pay someone $500 to put in my head unit and speakers. I've never done this before so I'm a little nervous and before I start taking things apart I would appreciate input from anyone who is seasoned or has done this before. These are the components I have so far, but what else do I need ... wiring harness, mounting brackets etc. I don't have the Bose Unit or Navigation.

Headunit: JVC AVX800 (2 DIN)

Front Speakers: Kenwood eXcelon KFC-X1710P 6-3/4" (oversized 6-1/2") 2-way Component System

Rear Speakers: Kenwood eXcelon KFC-X1710 6-3/4" (oversized 6-1/2")

Misc: Steering PAC SWI-JACK for steering wheel remote control.

I reviewed the instructions on the following sites and I'm wondering if there are significant differences between the model shown and my 07.

Dash removal: http://liljerk.morpheus.net/350Z/dash_removal/
Front Speakers: http://liljerk.morpheus.net/350Z/front_speakers/
Rear Speakers: http://liljerk.morpheus.net/350Z/rear_speakers/

Thanks

I would check the depth of the comp's. More than likely you will need spacers (zenclosure, homemaid or gut the factory speaker) so the window's clear the front speakers.

Thanks, I picked up the H/U kit and the receiver wiring harness. I'll get the spacers next and hope for the best.

i replaced the headunit on my 07 and those instructions you're referencing are good. they are what i used. the only difference is the cubby where the stock nav would go. there are 2 caps on the lower corners that you pop off and expose the screws. that's it.

used the same instructions to get to the rear speakers (actually subwoofer in my case) also. just be careful not to break any clips. i would recommend wearing some gloves as my hands got scratched up pulling the panels out.

haven't tried getting to the front speakers but the procedure has to similar if not the same.

good luck.

I finally did the head unit, I have to do the speakers still. The gloves are a good idea, I got myself really good when i pulled out the antenna wire from the stock head unit. The whole thing took us about 9 hours ... not so much because we were clueless, but more so because there isnt alot of space to work with and we had to get creative when fitting it all in. I put in a JVC-AVX800 head unit, the JVC Ipod interface and the Swi-Jack so I could retain use of my steering wheel remote. I'll post pictures
