Replacing the head unit questions
have '03 touring and i hate hate hate the stock head unit, but can only afford ot change the head right now. Is this going to be a problem? will it run fine with the stock amp and such?
When I changed my head unit the only thing that was different was the sound, and I upgraded to a 7 inch touch screen. I didn't have any type of voltage problems until I added the rest of the system, but even that turned out to be a bad amp. You should be just fine changing out the head unit first.
sweet, some idiot at the stereo store said something about he amp wont work because its this and that and you cant do this cause it will do that. didnt make sense to me. any trouble hooking yours up? did it sound better?
Mine i have noticed sounds great and just as it should with the ignition on, but with the car running sounds like ****.

Hi, I am new here. I am planning to change the head unit to Pioner AVH-P6050DVD. Can anyone of you help me in wiring? I found out there are 3 sockets and as follows:-
6-Pin Socket

Black/Yellow
Purple/Red
Pink
Light Green
Blue
8-Pin Socket

9-Pin Socket

Blue/White (Big wire)
Which wire represents the speaker wire (LL, LR, RL, RR)? Do I have to use RCA to connect to the stock amp or directly connect the new head unit high output to the respective wire in the socket?
Thanks.
