Default stopping noise in AUX 3.5mm input on a pioneer hu

Hi i read through some of the noise posts on the site already, but still a bit confused on where to fix my particular problem.

specs: 2003 enthu 350z
audio: diamon audio 4ch amp, cdts 6.5 comps and tweeters,1 10inch sub diamon audio.
alarm: compustar 2 way pager

basically, what i was trying to do was hardwire my portable xm radio player (sky fi 3) to my pioneer hu 9600(??) basically the single din unit with all the bells and whistles besides bluetooth.

1.i ran a quick spliced wire from my white/black ignition wire to a extra cig lighter adapter i bought from walmart and the ground to one of the empty metal holes on that bracket right under the hu(the area that holds the ac control ribbin cable), and pluged the 12v to 5v power adapter that came with the car kit for the xm radio to that.

2. Now i wanted to mount my xm car cradle and radio in the cars cubby hole, i ran the power cable,3.5mm aux line in and xm annt next to each other through a hole i made in the bottom. Well everything powered on, and i get sound but i also get engine whine noise. My other sources are still good like cd,usb..etc just my aux connection for xm is the one with all the engine noise.

now my question is using the 3.5mm to 3.5mm rear aux connection on hu to portable xm player and running it next to the power cable causing the noise like with rca's??
Or should i start looking for a better ground?
or is it a problem with the connection to the deck?

thanks ahead!
