Default OEM satellite antenna install

I was wondering if any one would know the correct parts required for a OEM satellite antenna install on my 06 Z. I currently have the following parts selected already Product sku#28208-Z33002, ANT ASSY-SAT and product sku#28228-CF40A, COVER-ANTENNA BASE. Now I saw a write-up detailing a OEM install for a G35 and it showed the antenna base being secured by a nut and I can not find that nut on any diagram for the Z. Does anyone know the number of that part or if it is included with satellite antenna assembly? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

^^ I cannot tell you the part numbers you ask about, but you should know that the antenna, and its wiring and connectors are universal. You shouldn’t worry too much about these parts (except, of course, you cannot cut any antenna-wiring for a more “neat” installation).

If you are concerned about exactly following instructions for best reception, you can ignore these rules as long as you do not completely block the antenna by some sheet metal in your car. You do not need to mount the antenna on the car’s exterior. I have my satellite antenna inside the car (hidden), and it works quite well there.

I realize that I did not directly answer your question. My intention was to provide additional information.

Thanks for the advice on satellite reception, but in this particular application I want the external matching antenna for my car. I will say this being a person that has installed multiple antenna configurations; you can modify and splice those wires if you are careful.

This comment is off-topic.

I’ve never been able to splice GPS antenna wires (my efforts here was doing this on GPS antenna wires for sailboats) and get the same result by simply using standard connectors and stock wiring. No matter how carefully I did this, the splice never provided the same result (evaluated using side-by-side testing on standard connectors vs. splicing). I think this is why GPS manufacturers recommend against doing antenna wire splicing.

This is what is needed to install the antenna that comes from the factory.
28200-CF41A (sirius ant. assembly)
28228-CF40A (ant. cover painted WV2)
The extension wire that isn't nessesary 28243-CF40B.
28219-ED000 (the nut that secures the assembly.

If you have any questions about the install, let me know.

Thank you for the information. I believe I have ordered the correct parts just not exactly the same numbers listed in your post. For some reason the same number is not listed in the cart but, believe they are the same because of the application description. Thanks again.

Did you order from courtesy? They do use different numbers on there website, but those are their sku numbers not nissan part numbers. Also you may have trouble getting the nut for the antenna. The nissan micro fische doesn't show this part but it is needed. The part number is 28219-ED000. It is also the same nut that is used to secure the murano am/fm antenna.

Yeah I ordered from Courtesy here is what is on the order right now, says it is still processing:
x [28208M] ANT ASSY-SAT - 350Z (Z33) 2006-2007 *C.(TOURING+GT) (!
1 x COVER-ANTENNA BASE
1 x NISSAN SWITCH ASSEMBLY
1 x SWITCH ASSY-ASCD CANCEL
1 x SWITCH-ASCD,STEERING
6 x BOLT
1 x [27960BA] NUT - Murano (Z50) 2003+
It sucks the view doesn't give much detail after it's been placed.

"1 x NISSAN SWITCH ASSEMBLY
1 x SWITCH ASSY-ASCD CANCEL
1 x SWITCH-ASCD,STEERING"

What are these for? Are you adding stearing wheel controls? If so, I'm assuming you have a base or enth.. You need to know only the touring and GT come pre-wired from the factory for the SAT antenna.

Nice catch Forever Z, I am actually planning on installing an aftermarket headunit, my portable Sirius Stiletto 2 and a Nav unit. I can't stand the stick on antenna that is supplied with any satellite service and I am going to put a hole in the roof and put in a permanent one. I also plan on using the spiral cable in the steering column and wire up the radio switches to work with the aftermarket headunit. For the switches listed above "cross fingers" I am hoping there is some "break through" in the cruise control DIY'ers. Thanks for all input and keep it coming, I can use all I can get.
