Possible Blose Fix
hey guys,
i dont own a Z so i am not personally familiar with the Bose system but the general impression is it sucks. Well, if i'm not mistaken and please correct me if i am, doesnt the G35 have the same Bose System? i heard that the G35 system has an option that you can turn the AutoVolume thingy or whatever on or off.
if this is true then why can't someone just take this swtich from a G35 or fabricate one? just a lil thought. might work, might not.

it doesnt suck because of the audiopilot system, it did at the beginning, it was very screwed up. they put out a TSB(first one out I think) and replaced the bass amp. I can personally say that the system works perfectly.
whether you like the quality of the sound or not is another thing, but its not bad because of the audiopilot, I think it sounds great, everyone that hears it agrees as well. I think some people may have confused factory upgrade with aftermarket. it is definitly not an aftermarket stereo, but it is a good system none the less.

wow finally someone who tells ity like it is.
I've been happy since the "fix".
Granted it wont hsake any doors down...but hey its not an "aftermarket" system. Those guys taht complain "we paid $1000" for this upgrade - just dont get it eaither. How much do the 18" touring rims cost to replace?
Either way, anybody know the diff btw the G35 speed control and audiopilot?

just returned from a 2000 mile trip.listened to bose all the way.ive said it before and again it sounds great to me.i can see how some one who likes vibrating base may feel it inadequate, but we listen and cant understand the problem.if people are just bose haters,a lot models seem to think they are ok,including the 89k plus mercedes sportster.

in terms of the bass issue - the bose is very dependent on what you give it.
Throw in some 2LiveCrew (or anything else with alot of bass) and prepare to be surprised. "Hey!! who put the thump in my trunk!?"

the G35 is based on your MPH, nothing else. the Z is based on noise using a small microphone in the dash to hear whats in the cabin and compensate accordingly.
I dont know for sure, but IMO the fix more or less disabled this function. I dont mind tho. whatever it did, it works fine, if it could be working better, I donno cause I havent ever had it.

the fix definitely still works its just really unobtrusive.
To notice itthe most put your stereo on like 8. Stomp on th egas, take some corners....voila.
I wasnt sure how much it was doing until I noticed that with anothe rperson in the car (my wife for eg.) I often had the radio liek 4-8 so we could still talk (vs 18-22 when alone).
She actually picked up on it as the car came to a stop and we werent talking the music became barely audible.
Its kinda funny the little diff's btw the two cars eh? g/z
