Water is not a concern with our doors, as they are sealed from the factory. When we refer to installing them in the doors, they are just behind the door panel, not all the way inside of the door where they might be exposed to the elements.

Anybody here use Mmats speakers? How do they rate? I know they make a 3 way & coaxial design 6.5" speaker.

What's up guys?
Anymore components that go in the stock door? Seriously looking at the Morel Tempo's, PG Ti Elites and Dynaudio System 240MkII's. Hope one of them fit.

I have a preliminary report on CDT EF61-FG mid's. The speakers do not fit with the 1" spacer, but after some fiddling, it appears that if I make a tapered undersection (likely using Edead to do this) that comes out ~3/8" on the most forward top side of the speaker and tapers to nothing, the speaker magnet will just clear the window. Basically its going to angle the speaker to be more "in line" with the angle of the door panel, which subsequently pulls the basket of the speaker away from the window.
The bad part is that it now aims more of the speaker into the door panel.
I didn't plan to mount anything today, but in case anyone else was eying these, I figured I'd post.
Cliff's:
CDT EF61-FG mid's should fit with a fair bit of effort.

I plan on purchasing these the Diamond Audio S600S 6.5" and I see that they fit over gutted speakers. Can I just purchase a 1" spacer instead of gutting the stock speakers? I am concerned that I will lose sound quality by doing this and would like to keep the stock speakers in case I ever want to go back to stock.
Also, Kuhan, what amp are you using to run them?
Thanks

Following up on my earlier post, I want to strongly discourage anyone from trying to fit the EF61-FG's in the stock locations. The tweeters fit in the stock sail (nicely actually) without any modification - although that may be changed - I put them behind the grills for now to muddle the sound a bit.
The mid basses however, were an exercise in determination, and required so much spacing that I had to trim the door panel supports and run the grill holder (not the grill) on the speaker to keep the door panel from hitting it. The Factory grills barely fit without being in a dangerous spot for the drivers.

Jay just wanted to thank you for starting this thread and for posting all the awesome pictures in your other DIY audio install. Wanted to ask if folks are using any gasket tape with the 1 inch spacer or if that gets to close to the door panel? Thinking of going with the Pioneer TS-D1720C in the front and if the specs on the Pioneer website are correct it should be the same as the TS-D720C.
