Default which alarm is the best?

I'm sick and tired of short distance of our keys. So I'm looking for alarm w/remote start button.

1. Is there any navigation system has alarm system built in?
2. I don't know the product name, but I saw one car w/ automatic sensor? whenver I get close to the car or touch the body of the car, it beeps. so I wonder which product is it.

3. which alarm would be good? I'm currently looking for viper 7900, but not sure it has #2 option for me.

I just had one of these installed:
http://www.autopageusa.com/t_inside....5-ebe9de1a12be

It does work good, but the remote start was tedious to install on a manual. It took about three days total for the shop to get everything configured. It has a massive amount of features and I havent even scratched the surface in getting them all setup yet. (like knocking a 4 digit code on a specific area on my windshield will disarm the alarm, in car temperature display, parking meter timer)

seem very hi-tech. i like the feature on the remote that allow the battery to be charge via USB.

how much did it cost you for the unit and installation?

3 Days to install?? Have they ever put an alarm in before?? Is this installed on an automatic or manual transmission?

The shop is very familiar with Autopage, but customers dont usually buy the top of the line 6 channel alarm they offer. It was actually the shop owners christmas bonus to me for working at the shop. The complicated part was the additional component required for installing a remote start on a 6MT. That's the part they've never done before (and they had to order the part). I'm not sure the part number required but here's how it works:

When I arrive at my destination, if I want to remote start the car I:
  1. Hit the auto start button on the remote
  2. The transmitter beeps and the driving lights turn on
  3. Remove the key, the car still runs. Open door get out
  4. Close door, car shuts off and the alarm is armed
Now I hit the start button and the vehicle starts. I approach car, disarm alarm open door, insert key and turn to ON (If at anytime you touch the brake with the key out of the ignition the car shuts off). Drive away

I had the install done for free as a part of my bonus, but a 6 channel alarm with starter kill and remote start on a mt would be quit expensive I would imagine, depending on how many relays and things were connected to those 6 channels. The unit itself I believe is right around $300

the only thing you need to install a remote start on a MT is a relay. The thing is that some cars are different and you have to wire up the relay differently.
