problem with 03 bose stereo sound. help
im having a problem where my audio cuts out on the drivers side, but only while playing a cd. on radio it works fine. i have tested it with the fader and balance controls, its just when im playing a cd. can anybody tell me how to fix this, or should i just go buy a new system.
Same here, dunno if it's only when using the cd-player, because I never listen to the radio
I went to the dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong with it.
It happens when I drive over a speedbump, or during a tight corner, but not everytime.
edit: just checked it, and you're right. When I switch to the radio the speaker works! Very weird...
Switch back to cd and again nothing...

Had the same problem.
If you hit the driver side knee pad while playing a CD the left side audio should come back on
. I know, not the best solution for your problem but it always worked for me.
According to a Bose repair shop I contacted, I was quoted around $250 to fix the problem. No thanks!
The best solution is to go aftermarket!! I replaced mine with a Kenwood DNX-7120 and couldn't be happier.

Been dealing with the same problem here. 2005 Z w/bose. I just recieved my speaker spacers from Zenclosures. Im gonna replace the front drivers side speaker and see if that will fix the problem. (If not I will replace the HeadUnit next)
I've always had the same problem...only happens with CDs.
Until last week......
Now my sub turns on and off in the same way, but with radio or CD or anything. I could handle the driver side audio cutting out but the sub thing is really starting to **** me off and I don't know why its happening all the sudden.

I'm taking my car to the dealer next friday (under warranty) to fix this problem. But I'm not sure if they know exactly what to look for.
Hey, ive searched like crazy? is it the bose amp that is going out that causes this? Im currently having the same darn problem with my car...
My drivers side speakers - the lower door speaker by my left foot cuts out......ill drive and hit a speed bump in the road or something and it will come back on? but not for long? what gives?
anyone know....
ive done some searches, and the most i find is the stock amp goes out and causes the bose sub to go out, but no mention of the other door speakers???
im guessing its the amp, because in typical amp (aftermarket) installs - the amp recieves the signal from the headunit and then you send wiring to every speaker from the amp and then to the sub... unless the stock amp is only solely for the sub??? i dont know..
who knows what fixes this??

I wonder if I can play mp3-cd's with the new one...
i had the same problem. i brought it to dealer and they said they had to order a new speaker, so they installed the new speaker. however after several minutes of it working fine, it stopper working. very frustrated, i brought the car back days later and they checked it and said nothing was wrong. i decided to just keep and not worry about it. a week or so later and the speaker works fine, no problems. this was about 4 months ago, and the speaker works fine to this day! i believe that is you guys just ignore the non playing speaker for a while, it will start working again.
