+1. This is the best security system for a vehicle, period!!!! I had it on the Z roadster before this coupe. Even if you start the car with the key without it plugged in, you're car will shut off within a few seconds. http://www.ravelco.com/

Everybody is talking alarms when the best security defense you have is the INSTALLATION of the alarm. Here are a few questions you may want to ask your salesman or installer:

- Do you solder ALL connections and heat shrink everything?
- Do you effectively hide the brain of the alarm?
- Do you hide the fusing?
- Do you conceal the wiring and secure it properly?
- Do you hide the siren?
- Are you authorized to install this specific alarm?
- Do you have any expereince beyond "my buddy showed me how to install an alarm"?
- Do they offer a lifetime warranty?
- Are they using product that has a superior replacement guarantee?
- Does the shop have liability insurance in case they fornicate your car?

You also have to remember that a secure car is a secure alarm system. As mentioned before, you should really have a back up battery and a back up siren as well. Proximity sensor if you have a convertible, shock and glass sensors, hood pin and trunk protection as well.

I only use Compustar alarms when installing and the best one (here in Canada) is the 2W9000 or 'PRO' model. Its got just as much if not more range than the SS model in the states because it uses a wider band or frequencies (US military band). My recommendation is to buy the 'PRO' from Canada and install it down in the states.

We do a full load alarm with remote start for about $900 installed including back ups and sensors.
