OEM head unit with aftermaket amp and sub?
Yes,
The Infinity Basslink works quite well for this because it has a built in amp that accepts speaker-level inputs.
See my other threads for info on this.
You could wire some other amp from the head unit, but you'd need a speaker->line level converter.

A basslink is a sub/amp combo from Infinity...but if you already have the amp, you probably don't want that.
Instead, get the speaker level->line level converters (available at any car audio shop or crutchfield) and wire/box up whatever sub you want to throw at it.
In theory, you can run the leads to your amp in parallel from the deck leads like the basslink does, be careful to keep things grounded and isolated though to avoid noise.

i look on soundomain.com and crutchfield.com and they all say it wont work for my car i have a track so it doesnt have premium sound will it still work contrairy to what the website tells me?
i've used the speaker->level converters in my eclipse that i had with the stock infinity head and speaker setup. i puled back a small area of insulation on the rear speaker wires and hooked the converters to it. hooked these to my kenwood amp running 2 infinity 10's. sounded real good to me bu then again that factory system wasn't too shabby to start with. way better than the basic one that is in our Z's. I still have my set-up from my eclipse but the box wont fit in the trunk of the Z. once i get a new box made, i plan to hooked it all back up again with the line converters. should work fine.
