it is looking like my only option is a new head unit that has either an aux or usb input. I want to do it stealth-like and have it so the mp3 player can sit in the navi storage unit out of sight and out of mind.

I was hoping there would be a cheap way to just simply add an aux input to the stock base system.

I've tried an FM transmitter and it sounds like ****, so the input is the only way to go.

appreciate it, but I looked at their unit for the Z and at 170$, I would rather spend a tiny bit more and get a new head unit w/ aux input.

take off your antenna then try your FM transmitter it will sound much better.

 

You said you wanted stealth. $170 is change for a stealth set up, if that's what you want. I personally went for a new HU
