Default Burned CDs

I'll preface this by saying that I searched, but couldn't find anything.

Here's the deal. I drive an 07. The stock headunit is stupid, but for poor me it's the only option as far as music goes, so I'm stickin with it.

When I burn a CD, it won't work in the CD player for a while. And then after a few days, for what seems like no reason at all (then the gathering of dust, I suppose) the CD begins to magically work.

Has anyone else had the problem of burned CDs not working in the stock headunit?

Also, the error I get is just checkdisc. For reference, the disc is brand new, so scratches and other deformities are nonexistent. Like I said, the discs (or at least the ones I've tried) have all played after a few days of sitting in the car...

Had the same problem in my 05. Eventually it got to where it wouldn't play any cd's at all. Took it to the dealership(warranty) they replaced the head unit and it worked just fine, even on burned cd's too.

did you burn it as a "data" or "audio" most "data" cd's only perform 100% in aftermarket systems, just curious, you may already know this though

I always burn my music as data, and it works just fine on my stock head unit

Some cd players take a while to read a data cd, even though it will still read it later on. If I had a lot of music on a data cd, it would take longer. I guess it just depends on the player?

Yeah, I burn them as audio, it's just weird. I scratch em up a bit and they play, never seen anything like it. I figure it's just a freakish thing. I haven't tried changing the burn rate though. I've just been leavin it on max. good thinkin.
