Default head/main unit problems... please assist.

Hi guys. So my dad just bought him/us a 2003 enthusiast/base model (he doesn't know, and i don't care enough to go scrounging around to find out, i know it's a Z and that's all that matters to me, until I own it.)
but when he bought it he didn't realize there was some problems with the main/head unit radio. it's a single cd/am/fm unit. It's pretty simple.
So he thought he'd be smart and find a Bose 6 cd changing, cd/tape deck/am/fm/ head unit from the higher end 2003 model.
Since they're the same year model, but one was stock and one was Bose oem, will the Bose just fit in and work properly? One of the local bass/sound shops said, he didn't believe it would work because it would need the Bose amplifyer? Would this be true?
Anyone that can lend a hand towards the solution of this problem would be GREATLY appreciated.

It work won't and it's advised to not even bother with it.

Well, you would need to Bose HU, speakers, sub, sub amp, and speaker amps along with all the wiring harnesses to go along with it. I can only imagine the cost and trouble it would take running the harnesses alone considering the speaker amp is all the way in the hatch and probably runs through some ridiculous path.

The Bose isn't all that great regardless, I've gone aftermarket and replaced my Bose.

No problem. It's way more cost effective to go aftermarket.

Don't worry, in a few days your Dad will tell you he wants to add a factory Nissan Nav into the vehicle and you can have another chuckle at his expense.
