Default Help! Can't get stereo/console back in to dash after install

Hey guys....hoping to get some insight and a solution for this if possible. I just spent the better part of the day installing my USA Spec PA11-NIS Ipod interface on my base 2005 Z. I'm not all that handy but it all went fine...got the center console out(with DIY info from this site, VERY helpful), hooked up the interface, tested it(works great) and then came the problem. I CANNOT get the center console back into the dash. I can get the top part with the three gages in...but the stereo will only go in about 3/4's of the way. I tried to get it in for 2.5 hours with no luck....I'm not sure if it's the wires(the new wires and connector with the PA11 are CHUNKY)and I've moved them around as much as I could with no difference. I ran the Ipod wire up thru my empty navigation cubby but I've got that wire going down behind the plastic so it's not even in the way of the stereo. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? So FRUSTRATED! (Moderator- I originally posted this in Audio/Video Marketplace...sorry about that, please delete that thread)

If I remember correctly when I installed mine, I ran the wire from the USA-spec unit beside the HU and in behind the unit. I'm not sure though. You'll probably need to test fit the thing numerous times to see what is holding you up. Don't get impatient, it WILL fit.

I had to run a box for my Alpine screen, as well as my bluetooth module, three runs of RCA's, wiring for my Ipod, rear video camera, Nav antenna, microphone wire and power wires and while keeping the factory molex's in place and it was a big be-otch to get it all back in. What I did was remove the underdash on the passenger side (there is a bolt behind the cup holder flip out thingy). I installed the screen brain, Bluetooth and Ipod modules in behind the metal knee bolster which free'd up a lot of premium space. You may want to try and use this area for your module.

Good luck
