***My Sub just died, need help***
First off, I know very little about car audio. . .
Was coming back from LA the other day playing the tunes pretty loud and then all of a sudden my sub woofer goes completely silent.
Check the connections on the sub . . . fine, checked the amp and it lights up (audiobahn(I know sucks)) and the fan kicks on but still have no sound from the sub.
Any ideas where to start with this one???
Thanks
T

start by checking the output going to the sub. disconnect the sub and use a house speaker or another car speaker at a low volume and see if the amps putting any power to the speaker. (i'm assuming you just killed the sub since your amp is still lighting up) replace sub........

use a multimeter to test the ohm load on the sub... if it is blown then it will read different from what it should.
like a 4ohm sub will read 1.1 ohms if blown or any other variance if its fine them its your amp
