I think they're all confused because of the 2 seperate TSB's. My dealer (who are idiots btw) hasn't even seen the 087 TSB & when he told me I wasn't eligible for the amp replacement it was clear that he was refering to the 1st TSB. Don't give up, on Nissan products, or getting your new amp! It's that old saying "The squeeky wheel get's the grease". I am going to dog the h*ll out of them until I get the new amp. In fact, I sent an e-mail to the service dept yesterday with all of the TSB, VIN & amp info yesterday (after I just spoke too them the day before). I instructed them to order my amp (CE400) & call me when it's ready to install.

I'm also going to be calling the Parts Dept today to confirm if they have any amps in stock. If not I'm going to ask him to order one under the specified TSB.

Basically, I am going to pester the $hit out of them until I get what I want.

This really sux. I got a copy of 03-087 and EVEN THOUGH mine was built in 5/03, my VIN doesn't fall into the range. I haven't taken the back of the car apart yet to see which part # my amp is, but regardless the stereo is the worst I've ever owned. My local dealership was clueless about the TSB and said "well, no one has complained yet". When I pressed him that I wanted a new amp as per the TSB (prior to viewing the actual TSB) he said they'd have to check it out first. So I told him the problem was with "audio clarity" and just HOW were they gonna check it out. He never answered the Q when I told him well, do your techs have better ears than I do? I thought I was the customer...if I tell you the quality blows (oops, BLOSE) then what do you use as a tech to tell me differently? THEN he starts really getting mad at me and tells me "Listen pal, I'm not gonna just have $2,000 amps lying around my parts dept. especially when no one is complaining about em". AGHHHH this guy really pisses me off. Then it hit me driving home last night- IF he hasn't dealt with any amps in the past, how was it he knew they were $2,000 (which I still don't believe anyway). I will never, ever, ever show my face (or wallet) there again. Sorry bout the long post but here's my Q: Has anyone had their amp replaced even if their car vin wasn't specifically in the range of the TSB but their manufacture date was??

Is there a way you could post that TSB somewhere? I think it'll come in handy for a lot of us battling our dealers. Sorry you fall outside of it. I thought it covered all Z's up to 6/03? It doesn't make since that your VIN is not in the range if your car was produced in May. And there's no freakin way that amp is 2k! Maybe that's with their off the wall mark ups.

Bixby-
I can scan/send to you, but it'll have to be Monday/Tuesday. I'm at home and the TSB is at work. But, no problemo, I'll get with you Monday via PM and get U one. Cool?

Any chance you could just post it here? There's a few of us that'd like it.

Yeah, I can host it on my site too...but that depends on how big it is.
I am only interested in the text of it, so I may convert it to a TXT file.

Email me the stuff and I'll figure something out:

Took mine in today after making an appt. on monday. They installed the new CE400 amp. no problem. Sounds great. I just gave them the number of the tsb when I set up the appt. I must have a good dealer.

The petition is still open.
NTB03087 caught me off guard, and I am hesitant to mail the petition as it exists (pre-NTB03087).
Feel free to continue to sign and spread the word about the petition.
It should eventually become obvious if there is still a problem w/ the NTB03087 fixed sound system.

Email me if you have any comments/concerns.
