Default Kenwood DDX-812 and KNA-G510 Install help

Hi Everyone. I just got my new Kenwood DDX812 and wanted some help verifying a few connections/questions if possible. Any help is appreciated:

1. The parking sensor wire (lt. Grn.) needs to receive a ground in order for the DVD to work in motion, correct?

2. The remote sensor wire (lt. Blue/yellow) goes to my amp or wiring harness or do I splice?

3. The mute wire (brown) can be left disconnected since the radio has built-in Bluetooth I plan on using?

4. I connect the dimmer wire (orange/white) from the kenwood to my harness's dimmer (orange/white) wire and can leave the harness's illumination wire (orange) unused?

5. What is the difference between the Kenwood's Power Control wire (blue) and it's External Amplifier Control wire (pink/black)?

6. Can I connect the Kenwood's Reverse Sensor wire (purple/white) now to ease camera installation later even if I don't have a camera yet? Where is the reverse wire on the Hondas and what color whould I look for?

Thanks so much for your time and any help you can give. I can't wait to get this installed!

Dunno if you got it installed or the answers you were looking for, but I'll try to help

1. The parking sensor wire (lt. Grn.) needs to receive a ground in order for the DVD to work in motion, correct?Yes, I grounded mine to one of the shifter bolts, so any metal piece should be fine for the parking sensor

2. The remote sensor wire (lt. Blue/yellow) goes to my amp or wiring harness or do I splice? If it is the lt blue/yellow wire you are talking about, it is the remote control input, what this does is allow you to retain your steering wheel audio controls via aftermarket unit such as a pac swi-x unit or such, follow the instructions that came with that unit if you have one

3. The mute wire (brown) can be left disconnected since the radio has built-in Bluetooth I plan on using? Yes, if your phone is connected via bluetooth, it will automatically mute the music and rings

4. I connect the dimmer wire (orange/white) from the kenwood to my harness's dimmer (orange/white) wire and can leave the harness's illumination wire (orange) unused? Connect the wire that is labled dimmer from the harness to the wire that is also labeled dimmer on the kenwood. As for illumination wire, i don't remember what it is for, so I won't make an attempt to explain it, especially if it is wrong, sorry.

5. What is the difference between the Kenwood's Power Control wire (blue) and it's External Amplifier Control wire (pink/black)? The blue wire is for power accessories such as power antennas, antenna amplifiers, which get the signal from the stock headunit to turn on. The external amplifier is a dedicated wire to turn on amplifiers.

6. Can I connect the Kenwood's Reverse Sensor wire (purple/white) now to ease camera installation later even if I don't have a camera yet? Where is the reverse wire on the Hondas and what color whould I look for?
Yes, you can connect it right now, there is an option in the menu, reverse camera interupt i think, so if you don't have it set to interupt, then it won't do anything if you go into reverse even if it is connected, you can just plug in the camera into the reverse cam input later. As to where the reverse wire is in a honda, I don't know, look it up in a honda forum, or what you can do is find where the power is to the reverse lights and tap into that with the purple wire

As standard the rear view cam is just that - a camera. It shows you how close you are, but doesn't have any systems to warn or stop you from biffing into anything You also had the rather annoying "reverse beep" that many of us in the UK wanted to turn off as it was just a beep to warn you were going backwards, it didn't have any funtctionality in respect of telling you how close you were to an object.
Not sure on the functionality of the optional parking sensors on the Gen 2 that Toy ota currently have on offer, or what the Gen 3 will have in store (apart from the sensors at the front that help you identify the size of the space when using IPA).
