Well Here I am one more time. I swore I would never again build a large A/V system for a car. I use to compete professionally and was once sponsored by Blade Technologies, Sony, Phoenix Gold and Boston Acoustics. Many years ago I stopped building systems, but here I am with a bunch of equipment sitting around and a new toy to put it in. So my little Nismo 350Z will get a fun little A/V system in it so I have something nice to listen to. I have been selling old gear to buy items I want for the 350Z. Here is the current list of items going in to the car.
Pioneer AVIC-F90Bt
Pioneer TS-C160R (2 pairs one front one rear)
Pioneer TS-W1500SPL (2-10")
Blade Class D 4.2 Digital Amplifiers (3 of the four in my old amp rack)
20 Farad of capacitance
Other items to follow as I gather them. Here are some photos of the items as I am gathering them up for the Z. This will take me a couple of months to put in the car, but I hope to have it ready by March. I still need to gather a few items before I begin my install. But more pics will follow as work begins.

It takes mad skillz to put a Z in your Z and Drive while you drive. I am attempting both.
Old amp rack is apart and here is the pile O-Stuff for the Z. Head unit is on the desk behind me. Cap is on its way here and that will allow me to take the interior out of the car and start the build.

I love a good accurate sounding system, the challenge of getting the front stage right and getting that front stage to stretch beyond the confines of the interior of the car are always fun. It will also give me something to do on my 3 day weekends due to a corporate mandate of 4 day work weeks, better than a lay off I guess. Thanks for the complement on the Nismo.

These days I think more expensive. Also added another photo above, found some speaker hose (would say cable but its really the size of a garden hose) and the rest of my innerconnects. So I am now set for cable. Time to pull the interior out of the car and start layin cable.

I will weigh it all before I put it in to see just how much weight I add. I will also weigh all of the factory items that I remove to give me an accurate weight. But I am sure the cables alone will add 25lbs in copper. Not sure what the factory head unit weighs, so I will compare it to the Pioneer. Amps are small but heavy for their size. The largest weight additive will be the subs and sub enclosure.
The install will look as factory stock as possible. The only item you will see from outside may be the sub enclosure. Not sure which color I will have it painted, Silver or Black.

another fun thing i do instead of trying to Mac Guyver that console in... i mount the unit to the car and slide the center dash over it... also makes it easy if you just need to remove just the dash so you dont have to wrestle it all back in

As the world turns, items are slowly getting done. I am in no hurry the snow has not gone away yet and we dont have salt free roads, so all I can do is work on the car.
A few more performance parts arrived also, Nismo low temp thermostat, Nismo high pressure radiator cap and Stillen upper and lower rear suspension braces.
But for now back to stereo land.
