Recommend me a GOOD RADAR DETECTOR. PLEASE
As title says, im on the market for a good radar detector. what are some good ones, what do U USE, and one's to STAY AWAY FROM. i want a good one that not gonna cut my wallet in half. also is it true some scrammble police radar guns????
Bel STi Driver is what I currently use. The valentine1 comes highly recommended. No they dont scramble Radar guns, that is illegal in all 50 states. I believe both of these detectors run $400-$500 each. I would suggest looking at the features of these two units and comparing what features will fit your use the best.
I have a Escort 8500 but to be honest idk if i would buy it again. Although it has saved me in the canyons and some other times I still get ticketed. Most cops in my area never turn on their radar so it never detects them. Then after I pass them, they hear my exhasut and tell me I was speeding. They have no proof but what can you do....
Save ur money man and just know what areas have cops adn always be on the lookout
But if you want to buy one....my 8500 is good and i'm sure it's dropped in price. Detects radar a good mile away if it's a straight steet.

i agree with escort. get the latest 9500i. just got to escortradars.com. the reviews are great and i have one myself. just kno that radars dont make you invincible. cops will hear your exhaust or see you accelerate fast and drop you with a wreckless charge. they can also "guestimate" your speed by sight and try to drop you with a ticket

I have the wireless Escort Solo 2. I drove from Ga to NY with mine and happily got no tickets. Range is excellent for wireless, more sensitive then I thought. Battery range last about a month, before you need to replace. Do not skimp on batteries.
I like my V1 but it does false alarm in the city quite a bit. You can program it yourself to cut down on those though. And nothing will stop a laser that is used properly, like instant on only when it is pointed directly at your car. Laser scramblers are legal in most states and I know a lot of people who swear by them.
