You answered your own question in your OP. If you have the BOSE system, the headunit is BOSE. It may very well be manufactured by a contracted company, but it is made to BOSE's specs.

I do believe it is pre-wired for Sirius or XM, meaning the wiring harness is there for the receiver. It requires an add on module.

This is your headunit, right?

You have the 06 Bose, updated from 05 in looks and yes no tape deck. I just picked up an 06 roadster with Bose and I looked at several 05's so I know they are different. My manual said it is satellite ready, but you will need to install the tuner and antenna. Our 04 Murano is also satellite ready but the dealer said I would have to have the tuner and antenna installled. Around $600 if the dealer ordered parts and did the work. I am sure the roadster is somewhere around the same price.

I will be checking this out soon because I love using my satellite radio in my truck so I want the Z to have it also.

Following the merger (and before this) there was significant confusion on supported devices (OEM and aftermarket devices)

Please contact Nissan directly for questions about the OEM Bose system and Sirius/XM support, and connections.
