Default looking for cheap 10" (P3 vs type r?)

So I recently blew my eD e5.10 and am looking for an inexpensive replacement. I have an eD amp bridged that puts out 600w x1 @ 4ohms. I was orginally looking at the P3 10" until I talked to some of my co-workers. (I work at bby) For the money they recommended the alpine type r. Correct me if I'm wrong but I would need a D2 ohm sub to get the most out of my amp? What do you guys think P3 or type r, or any other suggestions for around $100, remember my budget is low so please don't recommend something expensive and say just save and get this. Thanks

EDIT: BTW I have a small sealed enclosure .56sqft so please keep that in mind.

type r will blow away a p3 especially in a ported enclosure where they really shine. Go to any car audio forum everyone swears by them for best bang for the buck. If you can since you get the discount buy another one get a new box made with at least 2.0 cu.inch of airspace and it will be very loud you would need a bigger amp though. Not sure if your amp is 1 ohm stable but I would wire 2 in parallel at 1 ohm. Im not sure about type r specs so dont quote on the ohms needed

If you are on a tight budget, I would really suggest my personal all time "performance per dollar" leader. Pioneer subs have always done a stellar job for the price. I think your store sells these, so you might be able to get it pretty cheap with the discount. This sub is well suited to most of the prefab 350z sealed enclosures.

I'm not too sure which eD amp you have because the nine.2 is rated at 400x1@4ohms. That's the only 2 channel amp they have currently. I'm assuming you have a 2 channel because you mention in your OP that it is rated "bridged". But if your amp is only stable to 4ohms bridged (most likely), then you will want a dual 2ohm sub and wire it in series to show the amp a 4ohm load.

I have the nine.2x amp which they don't sell anyone. Its a larger then just the nine.2 and puts out more power. Its rated at 600w x1 @ 4ohms when bridged. Thanks for the recommendation I'll have to check them out. I'm not really looking at just bestbuy subs because most of there subs are either 12s or there D4 and not D2. Our discount is pretty good but anything there can be found online for the same as employee price.

Was sort of disappointed with eD, would rather go with a larger brand for a more safe bet.

how did you manage to blow your ED sub? Did you not set the gains properly? The e5.10 should have been able to easily handle 600wrms

there's no readon a $100 sub shouldn't be able to handle what I'm asking without blowing.

I didn't have the gain all the way up and it worked fine for a little over 6 months.

Did you set the gains with a multimeter? Just because it wasn't all the way up doesn't mean it wasn't clipping. Did you blow a VC?

If you're looking for a 10" Alpine Type-R, I can get you a brand new one in the box for $150 shipped. PM if you're interested.
