Hey guys, Im installing an Alpine cd9855 headunit into the Z. Im using the wiring harness that was on the Z (aftermarket, was hooked up to a Kenwood DNX 5140 previously). The harness from the Z has two wires im concerned about. There is a blue/white wire that says "amp turn-on 12v"....im not sure what to connect this to.

The weird thing is that on the headunit harness theres also a remote amp turn-on wire, which from what i know is the wire that needs to hook up to the amp (which I will do)...its just the blue/white wire from the Z harness thats throwing me off...should i just tape it closed and not connect it to anything?

The other thing is the Z harness has a dimmer ground wire (orange/black). Im just guessing this just gets grounded since theres no such wire on the cd player harness.

The White and Blue wire from the stock harness is for the stock "amp"...

The Cd player should have a dimmer wire which you connect to the stock harness and that will dim the display on the cd player when you turn your headlights on... I seen some threads on here that people were having trouble with that wire... Make sure you check the polarity of both wires and that they can work together... I just didn't even connect it when i did my install(niether did i connect the remote wire from the stock harness)... I just capped them off and called it a day... I hoped this helped.. GL
