Default Bose sound system vs Alpine Type R?

Hi guys,

I just bought a new 350z roadster, 2005, yellow with the Bose sound system. RIght now the car is in Florida, I will receive it in a couple of weeks. My current summer car is a Mitsubishi Eclipse and I put it a Alpine Type-R sound system. My CD player is a CDA-9835 (was top of the line a couple of year ago), 6.5 type-r component speakers in the front, 6x9 three way type-r in the rear straight from the radio, no amp. I also have a 10 inch subwoofer in the trunk, with a small amp.

How to Bose system compare with my Alpine Type-R system? I am happy with my Alpine sound system right now, do you think the Bose system is as good my my Alpine is? If not, is there some component I should change or I need to change everything? Right now my only downside with the Bose system is that it can't play mp3 files, only CD-R. But since I have the 6 CD changer, it's not that bad.

Thanks, can't wait to get the car. I hope the winter is not gonna be too long, I live in Canada.

Unfortunately, you are going to be very disappointed listening to the Bose in the Z you recently purchased when you compare this to the system you have in your Mitsubishi Eclipse.

Sorry about posting in the wrong section.

Thanks for your feedback guys. Guess I will have to change some parts of my sound system then. Well I will still wait to hear it in person, but sound system for me is an important part of the car.
What parts need to be changed? HU, speakers, amp?

I think Bose sound system can be picky, I almost need to change everything if I want to change one component. Is that true?

Type R>Blose

Bose is for in home. Thats where they are quality and still there is better for lower prices.

Alot of people say to not even worry about your rears and disconnect them as they only distort. Probally since they relfect in odd distances and no need for them in since no back seat... but i disagree. I would keep them.

I have always enyoyed the type R setup. Best bang for your buck in car audio IMO. But if you want a better bang for a decent buck, Type X. There is so much more that is better but it is overkill IMO.

But one major point i want to make. In your eclipse and your Z...... AMP those components. It will sound so much better. They have more potential!

Sad to say, but the answer is yes.

Thanks again guys! At least I think I didn't pay a lot more for the Bose system. My Z got 40 000 miles, leather interior, and factory GPS. Yellow, roadster, MT. I got it for 16 000$, I think the price is good. I've been looking for a Yellow one for a long time, but they are pretty rare were I live.

I don't know if it's better to keep my eclipse's system and put it in my Z and add a small amplifier.

Or maybe buy a Double Din Alpine iXA-W404R with new speakers. I would like a nice HU, not something that everybody will see when they enter in the car. Some people got a really clean interior, but a huge HU. I don't want my Z to look like a riced Honda Civic

^ and he is a big audio fanatic so.... ok.. i honestly know where your coming from, but just the 2 mids aiming at my feat sounds to linear of a sound if that makes sense. If i had ideally what i want, i would as two more components in the door and aim them more towards the driver and then cut off the rears. But its not worth the hastle. I am a mild audiophile, but that is what my home theatre is for.

And op... double din ofcourse. Never seen a single din look good in the Z.
