Front speaker wire
Is it possible to change the speaker wire to the front door on 2008 350z? Also is the space behind drivers seat a good spot for a 14x11x2 3/8 amp if I use some sort of grill for ventilation?
Thanks, Lester

Yes, and yes
You will have to modify the current door plugs link in the photos. Just be careful when drilling them. you don't want to mess this up.
I have never had any heat issue with my amp in the stock Sub location. Mine has a Plexiglas window.

thanks, thats very helpful, I would also like to know how you ran the power to your battery and how you went through the firewall did you use a grommet? and if everything else can be ran through the center console? is that the best place?

Not trying to hijack anything here, but would you be willing to show your amp enclosure in any further detail? I was thinking of fabricating some sort of enclosure to turn it into a type of cubby for an amp. I'm looking for a setup that leaves as little revealed as possible (give less incentive for people to case/steal my stuff). I'm loving the way yours looks.

I'm actually in the process of installing a system in a 07 Z. About halfway done at this point so let me know if i can help.
When taking your door panels off make sure the windows are down and be real careful with the bottom pop clips, they break easy. When you go to move the lever from the molex connector its much easier if the door isn't completely open. Close it just slightly until you free up some room. The same goes for when you are taking the male side of the molex out of the female side. And when replacing them after your wires are through. I used a dremel to cut holes in the two pieces but i'm sure a drill would work as well just be careful you don't hit any wires. Make sure that the holes are the same on both pieces and that you keep the wires straight. When you are putting the two back together make sure they stay straight and you take out all the slack as you put the two pieces back together. When putting them back in put the female part in the metal first. The molex connectors are a real PITA but this is the best advice i can give.
For the power wire, remove the power cover and shroud. Also remove part of the weather stripping and remove the cover that touches the windshield. This will expose a large rubber grommet that is pretty deep. From the inside you'll find it behind the bottom panel and behind the metal shield you'll find. Remove both of these and grab a flashlight, you'll be able to just barely see the grommet on the inside and you'll see a big bunch of wire coming through in a loom. Instead of risking damaging a wire i made my own hole through the same grommet, after i made an X with a knife i fished a screw driver through a couple times to loosen it up. I then put a larger screw driver through ( bout the same diameter as my power wire ). Then i put the wire up to the bottom of the screwdriver and taped them together making it as flush as possible. You should be able to just pull the screwdriver through while someone lightly pushes the power wire through with you. It should be decently tight and if you need to just use a little soapy water or i had windex next to me, by a little i mean barely dampen your finger and wipe it on there. By the time you pull the wire through it'll already be dry. Don't go spraying the wire down or anything haha.
