hmm get the flame suit on! lol ill be nice before the fire gets hot. You will have to get a aftermarket deck with a ipod connection. Also ( i wouldnt recommend it) there is a thing were you can tap into the stock head unit wires to hook up a ipod connection, not sure how it fully works because i never looked into it sense i have a aftermarket head unit. Honestly i recommend the head unit. Get it done right, get it done right the first time.

Exclamation FM Mod

BTW, FM frequency response is 30 Hz to 15 kHz (not to mention the signal to noise), so it's kind of lo-fi...

It is kind of hard to give advice without knowing exactly what you are trying to accomplish and how much you want to spend. If all you want is to be able to get the sound from your iPod to your headunit then all you need to do is buy the cassette adapter from Griffin, Belkin, Sony etc. If you want to start integrating the controls through your headunit then you need to look into a USA Spec or PAC Audio unit. If you want to go all out and have full control of the iPod through the headunit then you need to replace the entire headunit.

Go to http://www.usaspec.com/!

I've had a USASpec PA11-NIS in my 2005 Track model for almost 5 years. With the latest cable, it works great with my iPhone 3G (it worked fine with my older iPods with the older cable). It also has an Aux in (RCA jacks), so I've got my XM satellite radio plugged in as well.

+1 ^

I just installed the PA15-NIS from USA SPEC as suggested above (Newer version). Works great. Can control the iPod thru the head unit and comes with AUX-IN. Easy to intall
once you pull the dash.
Got mine from here but might get it a bit cheaper elsewhere

Default USASpec PA11-NIS

I just purchased the USASpec PA11-NIS online. I have a 2006 350Z (Automatic) and cannot figure out how to remove the center console. All the instructions/pictures I locate online show how to remove from a stick. Can anyone provide me with detailed instructions? Thanks!

Instructions are the same for Auto except for removing the part around the ****. Here is what I did just a month ago
Remove the silver/gray ring around it. Find a flat screw driver. It pulls up but you need to pry it carefully so you do not scratch.
Move the **** into the neutral position. Key should be in to do that but you do not have to completely start the car (Place some blocks in front and back of tires for safety and engage the parking brake). This alows you enough room to pull out the lower part containing the A/C controls, slide it up and out to disconnect from the cables as outlined in all the dash removal instructions you find. You need to leave it in the neutral position otherwise there is no way you can slide the dash foward, trust me, I just went thru this
(I installed the PA15-NIS). Hope this helps a bit. I wish I had taken some pics

The USA SPEC website says that it is compatible with your radio. Double check the wiring.

I just got done putting a PA15-NIS from USA Spec in my 07 Base yesterday. I mounted it with a Dice G2 cradle on a Kuda mount. The install was pretty easy. Took about an hour and a half. I recommend jailbreaking your iphone if you have one and getting pop up blocker from cydia to get rid of the annoying "this accessory is not made for iphone" message. There's also something for removing the screen splash that says whatever it says when using the presets other than direct mode. I'm happy with the results. I'll try to post a pic later when I get back blasting this new Deftones album through town.

Just put this puppy in my Z this past Saturday. Works great. It has a USB cord with iPhone port connection. I had mine wired through the center console box. Just open the box, connect my iPod, shut the box, control everything from the head unit.
