Default Should I downgrade my system??? scared it will shatter the glass.... read on plz!

Im buying a 350z here in a few weeks... wondering if I should downgrade my subwoofers, in fear of glass shattering, or getting messed up, or maybe it will vibrate too loud...

I have two 2,000 watt rockford fosgate 12's with a 2k watt monoblock JBL amp.. already in a ported box.. but If it wont fit, im going to order one of those Zenclosures that fits the 2 12's... (subs will take up whole "trunk area" and be facing towards the glass..."
these subs run about 1500 watt rms, and are really loud...

now, I dont have much experience with 350z's yet.. but If I install very hard hitting subs like that, will they vibrate the hatch too much? or possibly shatter the glass??

thanks!

1. that box doesnt have enough airspace for those subs there 1.1 per chamber so your not even close. you could run 1 of them in it but thats about it. Even if they did fit trust me your no where close to putting enough power to break glass you need to be more worried about upgrading your electrical. Your totally focused on the wrong thing you need to learn more about car audio first.

Yes you will have to cut back on your awesomeness. My buddy shattered all the windows in his 350Z. I heard that the Z has thin glass.

Your fine.

I think you should get the dBs tested in your car and then you will have a better idea. It's not the size, watts, and box that matter, it's being in the right combination at the right RMS to really maximize the amount of air you can move

hey duro78, thanks for the response..
I may not be an expert, but I think i know enough about car audio, and plan to hook up the whole system myself.. subs/amp/head unit/door speakers all on my own..

I guess im not so concerned about the glass breaking now, but my real concern here is... Will it make my back hatch rattle and buzz like crazy? i have no experience with Z hatchbacks.. and not sure if you can even dynomat them... basically im wanting to know if two 2k watt 12's will be too much for the car...

and I dont think I should need to upgrade my electrical anything..
ive ran those subs and amp off of a regular stock battery in a dodge durango, and everything was fine.. no capacitor or anything... the lights would dim a bit when they hit hard, but other than that it worked fine for over a year...

that leaves one last issue, adiquate (how the **** do you spell that?!) enclosure space.. i know the zenclosure 2 12" box looks pretty small, MUCH smaller than the ported box I have the subs in now.. the only reason I wanted to do that, is I already own some nice subs, and dont feel like getting new ones! but since the subs would probably sound like **** in the zenclosure box, i guess i wont do that..

im thinking maybe just getting the one 10" or two 10" zenclosure, and buying some new subs.. if you think thats the best idea, and just selling my 12's.. any reccomendations on 10's??

thanks

I recently bought that box from Mike it actually doesnt rattle that much. If your on a budget try type r's if your willing to spend more theres a whole list of nice stuff. I missed ported so much just gets so low and loud unlike sealed. Adust the box to your subs requirements and it will hit hard as hell.. You can see if Mike will make that box for 1 12

Yes... its too much for any car. But thats my taste... but on a hypocritcal note, the TypeXs i was inquiring about i found out wont come close to fitting in a Zenclosure, due to depth... Not even (1) 10". I dont have expirience with RF 2000 watts, but if it is an ACTUAL QUALITY 2000 watts, it will be too deap to fit in.

Thats what she said.

+1 on the Type Rs... best bang (boom) for your buck.

If your trying to use 2 subs and they each handle 2000 watts and your amp is mono and only 2000 watts, you would not be putting 1500 watts rms to each sub.......
