Arrow You pick what car audio equipment I put in my car!

Well... I'm getting frustrated trying to find the perfect setup.

If you were me had $1100 to spend on car audio for your Z, what would you get?
Keep in mind I want quality over loudness.

I was thinking of getting one 10" sub to conserve space in my trunk with this box:
Nissan 350Z Subwoofer Enclosure Custom Sub Box 1 10" - eBay (item 380122846055 end time Jun-01-10 14:13:36 PDT)
And Hertz speakers for the front.

I have the AVH-P4000DVD Pioneer Head Unit with the stock BOSE system. I'll need a wiring kit and all that too. Throw some ideas at me, links and prices would be great.

My Z:

Well, you are already rimmed up, its about time you get a killers system.

Will you be doing your own install or does the 1100.00 have to include installation somewhere?

Your Z looks great. Now you need to have it sound great.

One problem though… your budget isn’t great (but certainly adequate).

You already have an aftermarket H/U, but are still with the lousy Bose stuff. That means a total tear-out of the Bose stuff (speakers, amps, and SubW) and replacing these with better sounding components.

Probably the biggest expense is labor. If you can do the installation, you save a lot of $$’s that you can redirect towards better components.

All of your questions are answered here, (on my350z.com) if you search.

Imo go to a local audio shop and ask them to hear stuff and for their opinions (is what I do) Though it sounds different in your car...

Also, are you removing the rear speakers or replacing them?

spend the money on coils and lower your car!!

but in all seriousness if you look in this section you will see peoples recommendations for interior speakers

I suggest doing a twin 10" sub set up with a JL amp (500 or 1000) and you will be roght around your price range

I've got a friend that works at a local audio shop, he'll be doing the installing.

Thanks!
I know my budget isnt GREAT... but compared to my Bose system, it'll be a million times better.

Don't have to worry about labor, a friend of mine works at a local audio shop, he's got tools and the knowledge. He's the one that suggested Hertz speakers. HSK 165 and HCX 165.3 to be exact. I just wanted to get more opinions.

I searched the forum and I've been doing some reading. I also registered at caraudio.com and been looking around their forums. They're a whole lot nicer and helpful over there than in this corner of my350z.com lol.

Replacing them, thanks!

Sure have... would you like the links of the sites/forums i've visited?
I guess I should have put the disclaimer saying that I've already searched and just wanted someone's opinion directed towards my situation/budget?

Haha that sounds like a great idea.

What kind of sub enclosure though?

Here's a reply I got from a different forum they're very helpful:

IMHO the Hertz "High Energy's" sound richer then the higher end "Mille's". So they would be my favorite Hertz comp for a good price=performance ratio.

As far as amps, a budget and what speaker would help narrow it down immensely.

Sub-wise: The SSA Dcon is solid little SQL (sound quality level) woofer. It'll operate great on 300-400rms. An IDQ is also extremely pleasant.

The High Energy's can be had for ~$300 a pair
The Dcon is $120

Hertz/Audison, JL, Zapco and all of the wonderful SQ companies tend to be quite pricey. :-/

There are MANY more budget friendly alternatives though. A budget of 1k can make you smile ear to ear if you research enough and find out what you are looking for out of your future system.

Thats really not a fair statement. I just started a thread a few days ago and received a great deal of help and suggestions.

You had already defeated yourself with the title to your thread. Suggestions weren't enough, though. You wanted links and prices too. I have been to the caraudio forums and have found everything I needd without even joining.

I'm not flaming you, but I bet if you would have waited until now to post after going to the caraudio forums you would have gotten a better response.

I have read a lot of good thing about Hertz. I have Focal's and could not possible see going with anything else.

CarAudio.com is all about SPL mostly...go over to diymobileaudio.com if you want some SQ.

FI Q, Image Dynamic, Stereo Integrity Mag are some nice subwoofers..

I like PDX/JL HD because of there small foot print amps.

You'd want to ditch the rear speakers completely as well.

lol. are u trying to prove you didn't search? removal of the rear speakers has been mentioned more than a bunch of times in the audio section in this forum... I know that and I've never even researched trying to build a sound system.

its ok, everyone just wants quick answers here and there. Honestly, I hate buying audio equipment online because I've encountered several problems already. Buying local and paying a little more has its perks, one of them being you get to listen to what you buy before you pay. And if you buy all from one place you can probably get $1300 or more worth of stuff discounted to within your budget.

There's already a thread from a week or so ago where some people made system suggestions in your same budget range......here:
https://my350z.com/forum/audio-and-v...-subs-etc.html

The thread didn't end well, but there is some good info and system suggestions in there.

Yeah I agree with the other people... your car looks sick and you might as well spend the extra money and make the sound quality the same...

If I were you I would save up and replace the door speakers with bostons and then go with a JL sub or two or three

My sub and amp setup was 1500 with install, and that only includes the amp subs and enclosure
