Default Alarm Systems

After getting some minor work done on my Z, I'm thinking of adding an alarm system to my 2008 roadster. Any recommendations?

I've done a bit of research and it seems a bit overwhelming. All that remote start **** and 3-400 dollar price differences for systems that look nearly identical. I have no idea where to start. I'm looking to spend around 150, but if that won't get me anywhere then I could increase the amount.

Thanks for any help.

Does it really? I've heard it's kinda bad. Would an aftermarket system be an upgrade?

I was looking at some systems for around 170 bucks. I think I'll head over to the local Fry's and see what the prices are like and what my options are.

Why do people throw all this $ in their cars then skimp when it comes to protecting it.

If you don't feel safe with the stock alarm then go all out and buy the best of the best. It's pretty simple if you google top end alarms. The only way I'd put a high end alarm is if I decide to Mod my car up. Being as how my car is stock, I do just fine with my stock alarm and 4 mags full of hollow points. Come get it.

If you find the research to be overwhelming then chances are you will not be the individual installing the alarm into your car. At $150 that will barely cover the cost of a proper install (that's labor cost, not the cost of the actual alarm itself). My advice to you is to keep your car as stock as possible and to stick with the stock alarm.

I have the UNGO S670 and I really like it. No remote start but it has a nice LCD transmitter, and alot of good features. Also the car on the box and on the remote LCD display is a 350Z!!!! I didnt buy it for that reason but when I saw that I really liked it. It's red too like mine!!! Lol

I have the S670 and I think it's whatever, but I think I'm probably more disappointed who and where I had it installed. I like the Ungo screen remote but, but they were unable to link my trunk button to my remote which pissed me off. Is there a way to do this by myself? Also, when I press the lock button on the spare remote (without the screen) I want it to chirp again to let me know that it is indeed locked. I've had a situation where I pressed the lock button and it wouldn't lock, which made me think that it was locked. But when I came back I noticed my car was unlocked. Fortunately I was at a friends house and nowhere busy where I could have easily been jacked.

Have a viper 5902 with Iphone remote start, audio/tilt sensor, key bypass, air horns, and backup battery being installed as we speak.

Install set me back $600 and takes a little over a full day to do.

Ya mine was installed well. The hatch release works and all that. Ya sometimes I have trouble getting it locked. The remote chirps when the car is locked.

What other systems can you add that will text your phone? What about tracking the car if it gets stolen with Google maps or some type of "Lo Jack" system. I heard "Lo Jack" isn't worth it. So what systems are better?

Right but one of my friends has an aftermarket alarm system, even if it's locked and you press lock it'll make some noise. That's just something minor. But I want to link the remote to my trunk, anyone have an idea?

Most systems has the ability to trigger systems as AUX function. The 5902 has 3 or 4 AUX options, so I use them to pop trunk, pop gas cap, windows up and down.

You probably gotta run some wire from the alarm box to the electronic hatch release. Probably from the AUX output. Then when you push the AUX button it will send a current to trigger the hatch release!
Or tap into the current wiring which would be better I think but more complicated if ur DIY. But thats just my best guess I'm a noob to electronics.
