I've been looking at Sony XAV-60 to replace my stock head unit, but I still haven't placed my order @ crutchfield and figured I'd ask you guys whether this seems like a Z-worthy choice, overkill, etc.

How is that overkill when it's only $300-$500 dollars? That is not Z-worthy material. You need to get a Kenwood DNX9140 to be worthy.

I just installed a Kenwood DDX-512 dvd/cd/everything else for mine. I found it remanufactured for $349 plus shipping and it works perfect and looks great in my Z. I have a DDX-712 in my Tacoma and I actually like the ease of use of the 512 better.

Now, what to do about the whole parking brake connection business? Only being able to play vids while stationary is a horribly load of ******** in my opinion since that feat I want primarily for the passenger. Any detailed guides on bypassing that or does it even have to be plugged in to work?

On Kenwood you "accidentally" ground the safety (e-brake) wire on the deck.
