Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD Noise Issues
I just replaced my AVIC-N2 with a new AVH-P4200DVD and now I am getting an assload of hissing from my front and rear speakers. My setup includes JL Audio 300/4 going through JL XR650-Csi's front and rear and a JL 500/1 going to a 10w6v2. All RCA's are JL Premium Blue series and all wiring from the amp's to the speakers are 12GA JL.
When I change stations, pause a CD or change songs I hear the hiss. I never had this issue with the AVIC. I can turn the radio up and from 0-28 the hiss gets louder and then plains out.
I had my radio grounded to the car instead of the factory ground which is my only change from hu to hu. But I tried unhooking it and that has not made a difference.
I did notice the AVH didn't have the little black box that my AVIC did, which I thought was a filter but maybe not.
If anyone has some suggestions I would be really appreciative as this is really upsetting.

Hissing - like the sound a snake makes? I would say bad headend or you've got the gain WAY down on your headend and WAY up on your amplifier. Or you're putting speaker level inputs into an amplifier's line level inputs.
Disconnect the inputs to the amplifier and connect them into an iPod and see if the noise goes away. That would mean it's coming from the head end. You've got to be using line level outputs from your description so make sure your gain is set per JL's excellent tutorial on their web site (also in your amp's manual). If that doesn't work either I'm thinking bad head end from the factory.

Ground your rca cables in back of your H/U to the h/u chassis you might of blown the on board pico fuse which will lead to unwanted noises and you'll drive yourself crazy trying to figure it out

TedB350Z, I have not upgraded my grounds from the battery to the body. But I never needed to before because I didn't have any noise. I will try that as well as it should be done anyways.
duro78, how do I ground my RCA wires? Never done that before.
