Just had a look at my wife's Acura TL-S, which has a backup cam. It's angled down (never noticed), too, so I guess that's not a worry and all the above comments about that angle make good sense. Hopefully, the eBay cam extends far enough down to clear the bodywork around the Z's license plate. The original lights are quite deeply recessed, so it looks like a close call.

Pretty sweet! Can't wait to see it installed and videos. My boyo back up cam has done me well, works really good in low light situations. I wonder how this will do at low light levels and how the guidelines turn out.

Nice find. Can you post up the part number or a link to the eBay seller.

My kenwood one is mounted in the recess next to hatch lock and points at this angle, I had to space it slightly but this looks like a great idea.

In for updates on pic quality

The eBay seller is: etradeone2007

Here's the link I purchased mine from:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=280533066614

Thanks to 06blueZ for the heads up on finding this item. Can't wait to get mine, and the seller notified me that it was already shipped.

Does the camera stick out much? It looks like someone could walk right up to your car and pop that bish out and take off with it?

Looking at the dimensions of the camera housing, as compared to the stock light housing, it looks like the camera lens will barely hang down far enough, because the lights are so deeply recessed into the body. I can only wait until mine arrives, and then I'll post some pics. In any case, I don't think this cam is going to be very noticeable, and will certainly be much less obvious than the kind which mount to the license plate frame.

I just ordered one yesterday as well. They did actually email me right away asking the make/model of my car and said they weren't sure if it was going to fit or not. With the dimension that 06blueZ mentioned, it should be a perfect fit! Either way, it's a heck of a lot cheaper than most backup camera solutions (official Pioneer is $220 or with parking assist for $400). I am just a little worried about the recessed light, but we will see when I get the shipment. Also, do you think this would have any impact on light output of the license plate lights since the camera is hanging down like that on one side?

Yeah, the Kenwood one was ~$300, so that's why I was wiling to risk $35. I don't think the lighting will be too much different, as the bulb will be the same, only is a slightly different orientation. I've got LED's in mine already, but I used to lowest power ones I could find. My biggest worry is the recessed housing, but I guess we'll see soon enough.
