I bought the CCD rear view camera and the Magellan 1700, wired everything but when I put the car in reverse nothing happens. it is like the magellan does not even recognize that there is a cable plugged in. I am using the RCA video cable that came with the camera.

Any thoughts on what could be happening.

Just in case, I wired the camera to the light green wire in the trunk.
This happened to me with my first unit. I took it apart and found that a contact on the board was seperated. Instead of waiting another month to get a replacement, I just purchased another camera and the second one worked perfect.

I had this same camera in my 370Z, but I had an aftermarket Double Din Setup.

OLD Thread from the dead... I know...

How are these cameras holding up for you guys? I just ordered a very similar camera on eBay for $22 shipped from hong kong.

I am using it to replace the ugly center mounted camera that the stereo guy installed with my Pioneer AVH3800BT double din.

Thanks

Ive had a few various cameras and they are all pretty good. No issues so far, they just get really hot and fuzzy if you keep the camera on ALL The time. But if you have it wired to the reverse lights it will provide many reliable hours of service.

I dont drive my Z much but the above is based on my daily driver application where the little camera gets a lot of use.

Good luck with the install.

Good to hear. I'm hoping install will be pretty easy. Already have the wiring there from the other camera there so hoping it is just unplug the old one, pop out the license plate light and plug in new camera.
