I don't see why not... it is an aspect of the business. I can't see them relying solely on stuff they sell to keep their installers employed. Money is money. Call down there and ask if you can set up an appointment to have something installed.

Pioneer AVH4100 is a great unit. I've been using mine for over a year now too. This years model the AVH4200 takes the old ones place. I run my Iphone throught the cubby, and use "Navigon" app for my gps. Ipod functions fine while using the gps and it gets text to speech, googles poi's. Music plays (ipod mode), it fades out to update me on my destination. Just make sure to get a American International double din mounting kit. The metra sucks and hits the unit when the face tries to retract.

This was probably asked 10 million times, but is anyone here running a double din aftermarket head unit with stock speakers and stock bose amp? If so are you happy with sound quality? did you have to go thru hell and back to install it with adapters?

Ive had the p4200 for about 4 months now. Bought the bluetooth/HD radio and everything. The touch screen just went out. Panasonic says i need to ship it to a facility in texas for repair, and they will ship it back to me. This is obviously a huge PITA, as this now involves removing the broken unit from my dash, reassembling the dash without a head unit, waiting weeks for the fixed unit to arrive, then reinstalling it. Buyer beware, if your p4200 goes out, its gonna be a PITA to get it fixed.
DONT BUY!
Get the more expensive kenwood unit and dont mess with panasonics shitty products and even worse customer service.

Default clarion cx400?

Looking around at head units and have a pretty tight budget and theres probably a 25% chance whatever i get is gonna get jacked out of my car. But does anyone know anything about the clarion cx400? Also if theres any recommendations for a decent quality but affordable double din unit that'd be great.

Clarion CX609 looks like a decent unit
features look very similar to CX400, but the CX609 has built-in bluetooth and variable color display, among a few other things (check comparison at Crutchfield)

Check this thread for a little info the CX609

CX609 is pretty cheap here

Default bose stereo 2006 350z

i have a failed bose/ nissan 6 cd changer stereo and now i just want to replace it this time as i keep wasting money buying used from usa and upon arrival discover that they also are faulty.

question, which good value touchscreen unit will fit directly into the dash without fitting a trim kit?

will an aftermarket unit be ok re wiring and will it work with the bose system?

please recommend a good unit that will illuminate in amber

Where did you buy the American International double din mounting kit? Looking at buying a 4200 and don't want to worry about the opening issue.

OP, did you ever decide on which unit to go with? I have a Pioneer AVIC F900BT and its my favorite unit so far. I got it for $750 at BestBuy back when it had just come out like 2 years ago which was an excellent deal. It has all the works including BlueTooth/GPS/DVD. They have a lower model, I think F7000BT or something like that that is a few hundred less. I'm sure they have something newer to replace those now but at similar price points. It looks awesome installed as well. I can post pics if you like, just let me know.

I have mine lit up in amber/orange to match the exact color of my gauges and I also customized it with my own background wall paper. The rest of my system consists of JL Audio Subs, Amps and components throughout and the sound is excellent.

just remember one thing - you get what you pay for. Good luck.
