Can I run an aftermarket sub/amp off of a stock Bose system?

Default Can I run an aftermarket sub/amp off of a stock Bose system?

Can i run an aftermarket sub/amp off stock bose radio? For example a 500/1 Amp and a W6?

Yes. Replace the Bose amplifier with your amplifier.
Replace the Bose sub woofer with your sub woofer. Of course you will hardwire everything because the connectors will not match.

so do i have to hardwire all the way back into the deck or can i convert the connectors to the aftermarket amp from the stock amp?

The other option is to purchase a LOC - Line Out Converter. There is an active thread with this topic in this forum right now.

A LOC will let you hit the wires before your Bose Amp, and give you RCA outs to your aftermarket amp -- effectively bypassing the Bose unit that's installed.

I have had mine installed like this for a year or so, no problems at all.
