pioneer headunit static
Well i have had this pioneer headunit in my car for about two years with my stock bose system and now i have upgraded my system 4 channel amp component speakers sub and sub amp and im getting static noise coming out of the speakers. I heard these pioneer headunits blow a pico fuse so i opened it up and did not find it could this be the problem. I have a DEH-P510UB pioneer headunit any one here with this headunit have this static noise problem or found the pico fuse. by the way i tryed grounding the rca's on the headunit and it did not work actually made it worse.

i did the same thing dropped pioneer and use alpine and try to sway customer installs to use Alpine as well
pioneer did come out with its stage 4 single din SQ deck which does peak my interest but that is way to much money

I would go with Alpine or something else if you can. The Pioneers are finicky and if you make one little mistake and blow the pico fuse they become a pain to deal with. You have to remove the battery cable when you do ANYTHING to protect that little fuse. It's annoying for sure and why I just stopped buying Pioneer units.

There is an antenna amplifier power wire that you need to connect to an aftermarket radio's amp trigger or power antenna ouput. I'm not sure what wire it is or color, but remember seeing this before.. sounds like you dont have the antenna amp powered up.

$1000 is less than dealer cost on that deck and if your not competing in SQ , or you don't have head unit fetish ( which is okay better than crack) , than i can't see spending at least $1500 on that deck

on pioneer as long as when installing a head unit the last thing you do is connect the rca's, and when taking out the head unit the 1st thing you do is remove rca's then the pico fuse should not take a dump
