Default Going from Bose HU with NAV to Pioneer 4300 DVD.

Hi guys,

I have a 350z Roadster 2005 with the Bose system and the OEM GPS. The sound quality is not that bad, but the headunit is terrible. No MP3, no Ipod...

I want to buy a Pioneer 4300 DVD. If I buy this HU and get it installed, will everything else will continue to work like it was before. I mean, will both amps and subwoofer will be powered correctly with the non-Bose unit?

Thanks!

I can't answer that question, but I can tell you that I finally got around to replacing my entire "base" stereo system and used that exact HU. Absolutely love it!

Yeah, the HU looks great. I just don't want to change my whole system right now, I love the sub stock location and I really need all my trunk space.

This is why I want to keep the stock Bose system, but change the HU, if it's possible. This, and money is also a factor

Wow, didn't saw your answer at first. So if I buy this harness, I can keep my whole system and the new radio?
I don't expect the sound to be a lot better, but it's not gonna sound worse right?

Thanks!

I also have a 2005 roadster with Bose system but no GPS. I changed the head unit to Pioneer avic-f900bt and it work fine no problem. I don't have GPS so I don't know if it affect ur GPS .

I have an '03 With Bose/no nav..... I have just installed the Pioneer 4300 DVD. Just get the harness from Crutchfield. You do not need the PAC unit. The harness uses the amp-out RCA jacks from the new H/U to feed the Bose amps. Sound improved 1000%.

Hello, I also installed the 4300 dvd into my 350z, I was wondering, did you have any trouble with the faceplate sliding out when you want to put dvd or sd card in? It seems to have trouble because of the trimplate in the way.. thinking of sanding it away a bit with a metal file or something to make it open well without hitting... but did you do anything with yours? thanks in advance

Just installed a 3100 today in a Bose system. I used the roem-nis2 and it sounds a million times better. The benefit to the pac unit over a regular harness is that you can tune the level outputs to match the Bose amp, it avoids any level issues or distortion.

BTW, the relay bypass works perfect on the avh series.

Installed the Pioneer AVH-3200BT in my Z Roadster that had Bose and Navi. Replaced the OEM navi as well. The fitment should be fairly similiar. I used the metra trim kit for the HU. The Stock OEM navi controls are just for show so that it looks stock without a big hole there.

Dont know about the metra kit or harness, got mine from crutchfeild they had everything included..But for the bypass you can just get a 12 volt relay from a audio shop or autozone if they got it.
