For a few years I have contemplated building a carputer with a touch screen installed in the empty cubby where the overpriced nav system would have been.
I wanted to have access to my email, plus have my music, pictures, and videos.
Being a blackberry torch user it was a natural for me to get the playbook when it came out due to the tethering ability.
For those that don't know how this works, effectively you pair your blackberry phone to your playbook and they communicate through what is called a bluetooth tether.
So for things like email, blackberry messenger (bbm), contacts, and calander, you pull the info off your phone and display it on the bigger playbook screen.
The beauty of this is that there is no info left on your playbook so the security of your email stays intact.
Plus I get internet access from anywhere that my phone does using the tethering feature.
Well the playbook also has one of the best screens on the market, better than the ipad 2, has a very fast processor, and is built for business.
As an additional advantage to 350Z owners is that it is the perfect dimension to fit the cubby.
I plan on hardwiring sound to it and figuring out a way to charge it for long trips even though I get over 6 hours on a charge right now.
You will see how this fits in the pictures, and all I did was get a piece of dense foam that I cut a notch into that holds the top of the playbook steady and the bottom fits perfectly.
I have tried to shake it free with no success.
Now when I am driving I can monitor my emails and blackberry messages and if there is something important, pull over and the distance is perfect for typing a reply.
Thought I would share this.
Here are a few pictures that should show how I got it to work.

Door is a great sunshade though, and I don't leave it that way when I leave the car, and not too many people looking in my car when I am driving.
May look dumb in the pictures but works great and is very clean.
I guess I could remove the door but then with the polished front of the PB you have glare.
