Default Anyone have the Clarion CX501....?

I have an '06 GTouring with the Bose system. I swapped out only the head unit with a Clarion CX501 and I can't seem to get it to be LOUD.

The volume doesn't get loud (at least not enough for me, goes to 33 on the scale). The Clarion has bluetooth phone capability, but limits the volume to about a third of the normal volume scale (10) so during a call I can't hear anything over the road noise...

Wondering...did I maybe do something wrong during install?
Need an amp? I'm not the greatest when it comes to vehicle audio setups.

... sucks to have a new head unit, go through all the work of install and not get the reward at the end

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanxz

I wired it using the harness that Crutchfield provides when ordering the CX501.

I know the harness says "For select 2002-04 Nissan and 2000-01 Infiniti models" but it fits the 2006 350Z GTouring w/Bose.

Bro-

Feel your pain. I have the CX201 which is the same deck minus bluetooth and color change. See my saga here: https://my350z.com/forum/audio-and-v...io-expert.html All inputs made a lot of sense (minus SageZ's which were irrelevant), but everything I went through is the same for you and your 501. PM me if you need other info...

Regards,
TB

many folks choose to bypass the stock bose system completely, as of now you are still utilizing the stock amps.
