Default Good door speakers?

Can anyone recommend a good solid set of door speakers? When I go on crutchfield I see alot that fit in the real well but I want a good component set for the front. I have been looking at Polk audio and emailed them asking about their speakers for my 05 350z and got an email back recommending the mm6501 or db6501 for the front. I dont want to do alot of modding to make them fit so any help on a good set would be great. Also should I bother even replacin gthe back speakers or just replace the doors save the money on the backs and put it towards an amp and a sub?

I ran the MM6501 in my last car (VW Passat) and I thought they sounded great. Speakers (especially tweeters) are a personal thing, I (for example) hate the sound of harsh metal domes and thus only run soft domes. I've got Infinity's Referrence series in my truck and they are good too, but I like the Polks better.

I've got the Polk Audio DB651S that I too got from Crutchfield. I think they sound great considering they're only 6 in speakers...but I also didn't expect a lot of bass response, etc from them. They are basically fill speakers. Bottomline: I'd buy them again if choosing a speaker. Hope it helps. By the way, if you get them from Crutch, you'll get the adapters with them that make installing them a breeze.

Nick,

Do a search in this sub-forum. You will get tons of info about componenet speakers for the doors and rear speaker replacement.

need to establish a budget. components can run from $100-1200. For 6 years I ran Focal 165 K2Ps. Doesn't get much better. After I blew one (accident) I replaced them with Hertz Millie 165s. Again, sound great. Before I had focals, I had Infiniti components, I thought they sounded good until I heard the Focals.

Not sure if you've bought your speakers yet but I just installed a set of JBL MS-62C components this weekend and I am totally blown away by them! There is a lengthy review on DIYmobilecaraudio.com that turned me on to them

Fitment was perfect with a set of 1" MDF spacers. ( took a few photos will trybto post up a thread ifvi get time)

I have had many coax and component speaker sets over the years (pioneer and infinity mostly) and these really live up to the reviews I've read

Incredible bass for a 6 3/4 speaker. Tweets are clear and defined blend well no harshness like I've experienced with other components

Also got a killer deal on them at sonixelectronics $179 shipped!

There's someone in the market place selling a nice set of door speakers bnib. Can't really go wrong with JBL, JL, Alpine, Polk, etc.
